Kids, look out the Window!

To our surprise the other day, was a couple deer looking into our windows. They were on the lake right behind the house. My daughter Shon quickly grabbed the camera as the deer proceeded down the shoreline.

Another crazy story on the lake.

Living on the lake the views change daily.

This morning after the storm we got up and were surpised. The ice all melted on top from the warm weather, and today the lake was mostly covered with snow, exept for a couple areas right behind our home. This could create some great ice skating really soon.

When looking for the lakefront cottage or home in the winter and looking for a good beach, take an Ice pick and check for yourself. When buying the lakefront cottage or home, truly ensure you check out the beach!

Things to look for when purchasing a cottage.
1. Before the ice is too thick? Check the firmness of the beach. Take a broom stick or other stick. Take a firm stick and press on the sandy beach. Watch out for mucky beaches.
2. Overall layout of the property. Everything can be changed.
3. Buying the biggest and best home is not always the best thing to do. Its always tough to get your equity back out.

Summer on the lake.

Well with all the docks pulled in for the winter and boats stored away, I wanted to share a couple highlights of the summer. Boating on the lake with our kids was definitely a highlight this summer. Our two girls had lots of friends over this summer tubing behind the boat. One big thing I remember was seeing all the smiles and the words..."can we go again?"

Now we prepare for the cold weather and grab the blankets. Looking forward to the spring!
